1. When to arrive.... ?
Your arrival is expected on Saturday. Try to arrive around 16:00. The busses in Engelberg are operating until 17:00 and You would miss the bus when arriving at 17:12 by train. You will get your ticket and further information.
Dinner will be served around 19:00 followed by a introduction and the distribution of the equipment. This will take quite some time.

2. Engelberg skiresort... ?
The largest ski resort in the heart of Switzerland 35 km/22 miles south of Luzern at an altitude of 1000 Meter (3000 feet) above sea level.
Slopes from 1000 to 3000 meter safeguard outstanding conditions from December to Mai.

3. How to reach Engelberg ... ?
Respect the environment and use public transport. Use the excellent Swiss railway network. Engelberg has a complementary bus service. Daily bustransfer to the ski resort (about 1 km) is provided.

4. How to reach St. Raphael cottage ... ?
If you arrive by train:
Browse
http:/www.sbb.ch and look for connections. Catch any bus leaving the Engelberg trainstation. They all proceed to the base terminal of Engelberg-Titlis skiresort. Tell the driver that you join "the camp at St. Raphael". Board bus no 3, 4 or 6. Leave at "Wetti" (third stop) and follow the street until you reach the Shell gas filling station. Turn right and enter into a small street for 30 meters. The cottage is on your left hand side. Getting lost call +41 79 419 96 44

If you arrive by car: Map with driving instructions:
Remain on the mainstreet until you reach a "T" crossing (in front of you there is a public parking and the impressive Engelberg abbey. Turn right and follow the wall of the abbey. After about 500 m you reach a Shell gas filling station. Turn right into a small street for 30 meter. The cottage and the parking lot is on your left hand side (do not park in front of the house).

5. The St. Raphael cottage... ?
The cottage is privately owned and rented only during the duration of the camp. We are capable to accomodate up to 85 people. Most rooms have 6 to 8 beds. The few smaller rooms are dedicated to Couples and Families with children (please communicate your particular requirements, if applicablem, as soon as possible. The larger Rooms can be dedicated to groups if communicated prior to arrival.

6. Equipment we provide ... ?
We are able to provide you with our ski equipment. We own a sufficienct number of skis and skiboots. Good skiers preferably bring their own because our inventory is based on beginners requirements only.

7. Food and beverage... ?
Continental Breakfast, A Sandwich for the midday break and Dinner is served.
Some beverages are free of charge such as Apple juice, Engelberg tap-water, Coffee, Tea. A limited amount of wine is served for dinner. Other beverages such as beer or Limonade can be bought at the camp. Let us know about your particular habits such as (vegetarian - no pork - no beef)

8. Equipment de do not provide ... ?
We cannot provide you with skiing clothes such as jackets, sweaters, gloves, sunglasses. Try to get it from colleagues and friends. Clothing is absolutely vital to enjoy skiing under rough conditions. Even in March Engelberg is always expecting heavy snowfalls and temperatures even below -25 degrees centigrade.
We provide you with linen if you do not have a sleeping bag but try to get one because it's far more comfortable. A swimming suit is necessary if you visit the swimming pools in Engelberg.

9. Recreation ... ?
There are plenty of possibilities for recreation.
(Ask for a "Engelberg tourist pass" to get full benefit of special conditions. Ask Max if multiple entries are applicable where we can negotiate special terms).

  • Sauna at Hotel Treff or Eienwäldli (very popular).
  • Swimmingpools in the center of the village or at Eienwäldli.
  • Icerink, tennis, squash, billard at Sportcenter Erlen.
  • Several Discos downtown
  • You can run a disco at the cottage. Take your CD's with you and surprise your friends (we own a hifi equipment including, microphones and lighting system.)
  • Pubs and Restaurant (dart, billard, music),
  • Indoor minigolf at Engelberg Sportcenter.
  • Museeum "Talmuseum",
  • Visit the impressive Engelberg Abbey with the largest organ of Switzerland and the famous manuscript library. The abbey is a supporter of the camp.
  • Sleight ride from Gerschni to Engelberg (if run is open).
  • Access to cross country slopes close to the cottage (we provide you with equipment).
  • Plenty of hiking trails (all cable raiways and funiculars on the sunny side of the valley are included in the skipass).
  • Visit the City of Lucerne if wether conditions are really bad(Old city, glacier garden, museum or transport, juwellery shops),
  • Rent a bike at Robi's bike shop or at the train station
  • Get souveniers of Engelberg at the various shops downtwn.
